Radio Controlled Cars
One of the most common questions we are asked at Hobby-Sports.com is how fast will my R/C car go? Well, our honest answer will always be that it depends… You may be thinking that we are not giving you a straight answer, but we need a bit more information from you in order to give you a range. Does your model have a nitro (glow) engine? Is it powered by an electric motor? Is it engineered for racing or fun? Is it stock or has it been modified for higher speeds? There are a multitude of features that we need to take into consideration prior to establishing a speed range for your R/C car. But, don’t worry! We will get to the bottom of what your car is capable of!
Need for Speed!
Fast cars are always fun. But, unless you are an experienced driver, choosing an R/C car strictly for its speed is not a good idea. Here is a rough estimate of what kinds of speeds you can expect from different R/C models. But, remember that your actual speeds will vary depending on all the factors involved with your vehicle!
- Off-Road Electric – 15-60 mph
- Off-Road Nitro – 20-60 mph
- On-Road Electric – 20-100 mph
- On-Road Nitro – 20-70 mph
