Similar to the full-scale ViperJet, the E-flite® UMX™ Viper 30mm EDF delivers fighter-jet looks and performance with low-wing prop-driven airplane handling so more pilots can enjoy flying a jet! It’s a scale EDF that flies smoothly and handles like a sport airplane — yet is also capable of incredible top speeds and aerobatics. But what truly sets it apart is how easy it is to hand-launch or take off, fly, and land, which makes it the class-leading choice for a wide variety of pilots. The lightweight, composite-reinforced airframe arrives factory assembled and nearly ready to fly right out of the box, plus it’s factory-finished in the now iconic Aircraft Studio Design trim scheme. A 4S-compatible power system delivers modern-day EDF performance to make it the highest-performance ultra-micro class jet model yet! It’s also equipped with expertly tuned AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies, plus it provides real-time battery voltage and other telemetry information to compatible transmitters. Its ultra-micro size makes it possible to fly in more places and smaller spaces than most other EDF models, including at many large parks and sports fields. The fixed landing gear with a steerable nosewheel makes it easy to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or you can quickly remove the landing gear for increased speed and vertical performance, including easy hand launches with automatic Hand Launch Assist mode and smooth landings on grass. Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble and/or set up and fly similar class models. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly higher-performance ultra-micro models, larger models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, and various Timber 1.5m models, or other EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm, before attempting to fly the UMX Viper 30mm EDF.

Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage

Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos, and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!

Exclusive Technologies

This Viper features exclusive Spektrum AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence, delivering a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you’re flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make this the easiest to fly Viper yet!

Telemetry Capable

The UMX Viper is equipped with a control unit/flight controller that includes an ESC and Spektrum receiver that provides real-time flight battery voltage and other telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, the iX12 to 20, and others) while you fly.

Higher Performance

The factory-installed 30mm EDF power system features a 4S-compatible outrunner motor. This power system setup delivers the highest performance of any single-motor powered UMX/ultra-micro class jet yet!

Factory Assembled

The UMX Viper arrives factory-assembled and nearly ready to fly right out of the box! Simply install the one-piece wing with hands-free connections using the quarter turn thumbscrew, install a charged battery, bind it to your 5+ channel DSMX/DSM2 equipped Spektrum transmitter and you're ready to fly.

Fully Finished

The fully molded airframe is factory-finished in the unique and now iconic trim scheme by Aircraft Studio Design. Functional LED landing and navigation lights enhance this aircraft’s realism.

Lightweight Design

Construction with composite-reinforced EPS material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe that’s also easily repairable with odorless/foam-safe CA, Foam 2 Foam, epoxy, and other foam-friendly adhesives. Or, in the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can’t repair them, a complete line of replacement/spare parts is readily available.

Gear Options

You can use the included fixed landing gear with a steerable nose wheel to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Alternatively, you can leave the landing gear off for increased speed and vertical performance, plus easy hand launches - thanks to the automatic Hand Launch Assist Mode.
